Uniform

At Griffydam Primary School, we set very high expectations of our staff and pupils. The following information details our main uniform expectations for all pupils.

School Uniform

Main Uniform

  • Navy trousers, shorts, pinafore dress, or skirt
  • White polo shirt, blouse, or shirt
  • White, navy, or black socks or tights
  • Royal blue ‘Griffydam’ sweatshirt or cardigan
  • In summer, a blue gingham dress may be worn as an alternative
  • Black shoes – leather or leather-look (not canvas; trainers are not permitted)

Please do not bring items from home (e.g., pencil cases, toys, squishies).
A pair of wellington boots (any colour) is also required.


PE Kit

Children should keep their PE kit in school wherever possible, as we encourage exercise throughout the week.

  • Trainers
  • ‘Griffydam’ PE T-shirt in their house colour
  • Black or navy shorts
  • Navy ‘Griffydam’ PE sweater (optional)
  • Black or navy jogging bottoms/leggings (for outdoor PE)
  • A spare pair of socks (essential)

Forest School Kit

Children go outside in all weathers, so please ensure they have:

  • Wellington boots
  • Long-sleeved tops for summer and winter
  • Spare socks
  • A full change of clothing
  • Waterproof coat and trousers
  • Warm clothes in winter

Jewellery

For health and safety reasons, jewellery is not allowed. Exceptions:

  • One small plain stud in pierced ears
  • Small religious items (e.g., crucifix on a chain)
    These must be removed or covered with a plaster during PE and games.

Hair

  • No patterns cut into hair or unnatural colourings
  • Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back
  • Hair accessories should be neat and unobtrusive in colour and size
