Class 2
Welcome to Class 2, home to our enthusiastic Year 1 and Year 2 learners! In this class, children build upon the strong foundations established in the Early Years, developing confidence, curiosity, and independence as they move through Key Stage 1.
Our curriculum in Class 2 offers a rich blend of creative, hands-on learning experiences across all subjects. Children are encouraged to explore, question, and make connections in their learning while developing key skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.
We follow a two-year rolling curriculum, carefully designed to ensure full coverage of the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum while keeping learning exciting and varied. This approach allows topics and themes to be taught on a two-year cycle, so that both Year 1 and Year 2 pupils can learn together while still being appropriately challenged and supported. The cycle ensures that all children experience a broad and balanced curriculum during their time in Class 2, without repeating content.
We place a strong emphasis on nurturing each child’s individual strengths and supporting them to achieve their full potential in a caring and stimulating environment. Through play, discussion, and collaboration, pupils in Class 2 grow not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.
Learning is brought to life through engaging topics, outdoor learning, and special projects that spark imagination and enthusiasm for discovery.
