    KS1 trip to Warwick Castle
Take a look at some of the pictures taken during the KS1 trip to Warwick Castle on Friday, 8 February. Children in classes one and two had a great time finding out more about its ex-residents and their fascinating history.
  • Making It Real
Creativity is a key component of learning at Griffydam. We are at our most creative when we are young, and using these skills develops our ability to solve problems and express ourselves.
  • All Smiles
As children learn, their confidence builds, and they enjoy the process of building on that knowledge and experience. At Griffydam we try to make learning as interactive and engaging as possible.
  • Life Skills
OK, so baking biscuits is not a core skill - but the magic of making yummy food out of a few simple ingredients is something they'll remember for a long time.
  • Friendship
Friends you make at school can last a lifetime. Creating a happy and comfortable environment where children can interact naturally is a priority.
  • Ta-da!
We pride ourselves on having a healthy interest in performing together in presentations and shows. This builds confidence and self-expression.
  • Ready To Write
Of course, just because the core skills are taken very seriously here at Griffydam, doesn't mean they aren't fun for the children. Reading, writing and mathematics are the foundations upon future learning and development are built.

Welcome

Our small school has been here since the mid-1930s, situated in a pretty north west Leicestershire hamlet, and has pupils aged 4 to 11 years old. Currently there are 94 children on roll.

We have a lively calendar of activities and events, and enjoy good community relationships with parents, teachers, volunteers and staff - all working to make our school a safe, fun place for our children to learn and grow.

Our teaching staff all have input to the planning of work here at the school, bringing their wide-ranging experiences to bear on the development of learning and teaching at Griffydam.

We pride ourselves on being approachable and would welcome any inquiries you might have regarding the school and its activities.

Please talk to us if there’s anything you cannot find here on the website.

Girls Football Team

The Griffydam Girls Football Team made the final of the North West Leicestershire girls 7 a-side competition. They didn’t lose a game and didn’t let in a single goal until the final when they lost on penalties to Sir John Moore school. The entire team showed excellent sportsmanship and great skill throughout. We are very proud of them.
